PERBEDAAN EFEK ANTARA INTEGRATED NEUROMUSCULAR INHIBITION TECHNIQUE (INIT) DENGAN MYOFASCIAL RELEASE TERHADAP NYERI DAN DISABILITAS KASUS MYOFASCIAL TRIGGER POINT SYNDROME OTOT LEVATOR SCAPULAE
Abstract
Abstract
Objective: To determine the difference in effectiveness between the combination therapy INIT and US with myofascial release and US against pain and neck disability in the case of levator scapula MTrPs. Method: This study is a quasi exsperiment to form two groups of unpaired (unrelated), where the pain is measured using the VAS scale and neck disability measured by NDI. The sample consisted of 20 people aged 21-58 years with MTrPslevator scapula in unit physiotherapy Cengkareng hospitals, West Jakarta. The samples were divided into 2 groups, the treatment group I consisted of 10 samples with treatments such as INIT and US and the treatment group II consisted of 10 samples with treatments such as myofascial release and US. Results: Shapirowilk normality test obtained normal distribution. Levene's homogeneity test obtained has a homogeneous variant. Hypothesis test results in the treatment group I with paired sample t-test p value = 0.001 (p <0.05) for pain and p = 0.001 (p <0.05) for the neck disability which means giving INIT and US effective in lowering pain and neck disability case of levator scapula MTrPs. In the treatment group II with a paired sample t-test, p value = 0.001 (p <0.05) for pain and p = 0.001 (p <0.05) for the neck disability which means giving myofascial release and US effective in reducing pain and neck disability case of levator scapula MTrPs. On the results of hypothesis III with independent t-test showed the value of p = 0.002 (p <0.05) for pain and p = 0.028 (p <0.05) for the neck disability which means there is a difference between the effectiveness of combinations therapy INIT and US with myofascial release and US to decrease pain and neck disability in the case of levator scapula MTrPs. Conclusion: There is a difference in effectiveness between the combination therapy INIT and US with myofascial release and US to pain and neck disability in the case of levator scapula MTrPs.
