Abstract

CD40 is a member of TNFR which is generally expressed on the surface of B cells. Its activity is influenced by CD40L (CD154) in activated CD4 + T cells. CD40-CD154 interactions play a role in immune regulation, especially mediating the response of T cell-influenced B cells. Abnormal CD40-CD154 interactions can result in GD, by affecting thyroid cell activity. CD40 gene polymorphism has been reported to improve the translation process and expression of CD40 proteins that influence the pathogenesis of GD.
Keywords: CD40, CD154, polymorphism, thyroid
