Abstract
Banten Province has several well-known tourist objects, one of which is the Tanjug Lesung tourist attraction so that it can attract both local and foreign tourists. The tourist attraction that will be focused in this study is Tanjung Lesung. In 2018 (22/12) a tsunami that occurred in the waters of the Sunda Strait caused a tourist attraction on the beach to be damaged near Tanjung Lesung. The result of this incident caused damage to 90% of the Tanjung Lesung tourist attraction, the closure of the tourist attraction for 4-6 months and a decrease in tourist visits by up to 30% due to the fear or worry of tourists visiting the Tanjung Lesung tourist attraction. One of the steps or efforts of the Banten Province Tourism Destinations Division in restoring the potential and interest of Tanjung Lesung tourists is by holding a cultural festival program combined with sports tourism as an effective means of increasing tourist visits to Banten Province. This study aims to determine the Communication Strategy of the Banten Province Tourism Destinations Division in Publishing Tanjung Lesung Tourism Object in 2019 with a focus on the communication strategy planning model of Philip Lesly which consists of Analysis & Research, Policy Formulation, Implementation Planning Programs, and Communication Activities. This research shows that the communication strategy of the Banten Province Tourism Destinations Division in organizing and applying the Tanjung Lesung tourism object through the publication of leaflets, newspapers, local television, local radio and social media is the most suitable media to support the delivery of information about Tanjung Lesung tourism objects.
