Abstract

Abstract

Pregnancy is a very important experience for mothers. In this period, it is necessary to start the mother's bond with the fetus, called prenatal attachment. Prenatal attachment has an important role for the mother and fetus wellbeing during pregnancy and is an important predictor for the development of the baby after birth. This study aims to study the factors associated with prenatal attachment. The research design used was cross sectional. The sampling technique was purposive sampling and the number of respondents was 96 respondents. The instruments used in this study were the Prenatal Attachment Inventory (PAI) and the Poedji Rochjati Score Card (KSPR). Data were analyzed using SPSS version 21 using Pearson test and one way ANOVA. The results showed that several factors affecting prenatal attachment were gestational age (p = 0,000; p <0.05), gravida (p = 0,000; p <0.05) and high risk pregnancy (p = 0,000; p <0, 05). While other factors such as age (p = 0.284; p> 0.05), education level (p = 0.854; p> 0.05), economic level (p = 0.332; p> 0.05), pregnancy planning (p = 0.789; p> 0.05), and pregnancy examination (p = 0.155; p> 0.05) showed no relationship with prenatal attachment. This information can provide a description of prenatal attachment so that the relationship between mother and fetus is well established and the welfare of the mother and fetus during pregnancy and during the postpartum period can be achieved.
