School Environment Improves Health Behavior in School-Age Children after the COVID-19 Pandemic
Abstract
Introduction: Schools have been held as before after revoking the COVID-19 emergency status. However, the COVID-19 virus still exists around us and can attack us anytime. Objective: This study aims to discover health behavior in children in schools after the Covid-19 pandemic. Method: The design of this study is cross-sectional, involving 106 elementary school children as respondents. The determination of the sample begins by conducting random allocation to determine the research location, and the sample size is then determined based on the population of the research location. Data collection uses questionnaires. The data was analyzed using the chi-square test. Result: The health behavior of school-age children after the COVID-19 pandemic is only around 52% in the excellent category. The school environment, both teachers and facilities, affects the health behavior of school-age children (p<0.05). Conclusion: School is a factor that has a role in preventing post-pandemic COVID-19 in school-age children. Therefore, schools need to adapt to the new normal to remain vigilant against the transmission of COVID-19 by maintaining healthy behavior
