Improving Employee Understanding of Fit Issues through Health Talk Counseling at PT. Donggi Senoro LNG Gas Refinery Central Sulawesi

Abstract


Background: An employee's health status of "fit with note" is often caused by non-communicable diseases. If left untreated, this can lead to a status of "temporarily unfit." Therefore, it is important to provide health education through health talks to improve employee knowledge about "fit with note" issues. Objective: This study aims to assess the effectiveness of health education using the health talk method on employee knowledge regarding "fit with note" issues at PT. Donggi Senoro LNG Gas Refinery in Sulawesi. Methods: This pre-experimental study employed a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 32 employees with a "fit with note" health status during the research period. Non-probability sampling with a purposive technique was used. The data were analyzed using a paired t-test. The measuring tool was a questionnaire on "fit with note" issues. Results: The average employee knowledge score increased from 12.25 before the health talk intervention to 17.25 after the intervention. Statistical analysis showed a significant effect of the health talk intervention on employee knowledge (p-value < 0.05). Conclusion: Nurses can use health talk interventions to effectively improve employee knowledge regarding "fit with note" issues.
