Author Guidelines

Carefully read the submission guidelines as follows:

A. General Requirements

The requirements of Indonesian Journal of Nursing Health Science must be:

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration
  2. Files should be saved in the format of the word processing software word for windows or an open text document.
  3. Article is written in Indonesian or English.
  4. The length of submitted paper is at least 5 pages and no more than 15 pages.
  5. Use of a tool of reference manager such as Mendeley, Endnote etc. for reference management and formatting, and choose APA 6th format.
  6. Make sure that your paper is prepared using the  Indonesian Journal of Nursing Health Science Article Template
  7. The Author must fill the Authors's Statement Letter.
  8. Manuscript should be submitted to website https://ejurnal.esaunggul.ac.id/index.php/IJON
  9. Manuscripts that do not fulfill the requirements will not be processed any further.

B. Types of articles

Indonesian Journal of Nursing Health Science issues usually contain between 5 and 25 papers, with an average of about 5-15 papers per issue. Indonesian Journal of Nursing Health Science strongly discourages duplication/reduplication of data already published. If the Indonesian Journal of Nursing Health Science detect the duplication the journal will be forced to retract such articles.

Articles are accepted in the following sections (all word limits exclude abstract and references):

Editorial: These are usually solicited, contributed by editorial board members, but unsolicited material may also be considered (approx. 1000 to 1200 words). A maximum of 12 references may be included. Editorials should normally not have tables and figures.

Guest Editorial: The Editor encourages Guest Editorials to be submitted on a variety of current issues impacting and influencing nursing and healthcare education. Guest Editorials can have a national or international focus. Editorials should not exceed 1,500 words. A maximum of 12 references may be included. Guest Editorials should normally not have tables and figures.

Letters to Editors: These should be short and decisive observations. They should preferably be related to articles previously published in the Journal or views expressed in the journal. The maximum word count should not exceed 1000 words; references should not exceed more than ten, with a maximum of three photographs. There are no subheadings within the letter. The Editors are also willing to consider letters of subjects of direct relevance to the Journal's interest. No abstract is required. Not more than four authors could generally author it.

Perspective: A perspective of 500-1000 words length, with approximately 5 references. The author may express his or her opinion without complete documentation. No abstract is required.

Review Article: Systematic critical assessments of literature and data sources of about 3000 words should be submitted after consulting the Editor regarding the subject, but unsolicited material will also be considered. Authors should preferably be working in and have published papers in the area being reviewed and have sufficient expertise to critically evaluate relevant literature. Add an unstructured abstract of 300 words, with keywords.

Original articles: This includes reports of original research (including trials, studies of diagnostic tests or surveys) that are up to 7000 words in length (including references and abstract). Please write a structured abstract (including 5 headings: Background, Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion) of not more than 350 words and add keywords (3-5 words). Wording should be concise and present only the essential elements. 'Telegraphic' statements without verbs are acceptable. Abbreviations are not allowed. The article should follow IMRAD (introduction, methods, results, discussion), may include acknowledgment if any, and references.

Case reports: Case reports present detailed information on the symptoms, signs, diagnosis, treatment (including all types of interventions), and outcomes of an individual patient. Case reports usually describe new or uncommon conditions that serve to enhance medical care or highlight diagnostic approaches.

 

C. Structure of The Manuscript

Manuscripts in general should be organized in the following order: Title, Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements, Funding and References.  Paper size is A4 and a 2.5 cm margin for left and top, 2 cm for right and bottom of the page is desirable.

Title. The title of the paper is precise, concise, and clear. It should be written in Arial, 14pt, Bold, Center, Capitalize each word, and align center). The title is followed by the name of the authors and complete institution address.

Authors Name and Affiliations

Write Author(s) names without title and professional positions such as Prof, Dr, Production Manager, etc. Do not abbreviate your last/family name. Always give your First and Last names. Write clear affiliation, telephone number, mailing address and fax number of all Authors.

Main Text

Abstract. The Abstract was written in Indonesia and English and in one paragraph. The Abstract should be informative and completely self-explanatory explained including Introduction, aim, method, result, conclusion, hence the reader could find the relevance to their interests. The length of the abstract 200-250 words and should be written in the past tense. No literature should be cited. Abbreviations that appear in the abstract should be defined when they are first used. At the end of the abstract, list 3 - 5 keywords in alphabetical order that best describe the nature of the research.

Introduction. The introduction should provide the readers with information necessary for understanding research presented in the paper. Previous work on the topic should be summarized and objective of the current research should be clearly stated.

Methods. The section of materials and methods should include a discussion of the methods of statistical analysis, and specify equipment source.  All modifications of the methods should be explained.

Result. the Results section should contain only the results of the current author's study. There should be no literature comparisons

Discussion.  The comparison should be appeared in the Discussion section. The discussion should interpret the results clearly. The limitation and the excessive of the articles could be added to provide some considerations to the Readers.

Conclusion. The conclusion should be written in paragraph (not numbering or point). The Clinical implication and recommendation can be added.

References. References expect a minimum of 15 references primarily with minimum of 60% to journal papers in the last 10 years. It used a tool of reference manager such as Mendeley, Endnote, etc. for reference management and formatting, and have chosen the APA 6th format. All publications cited in the text should be presented in a list of references in chronological order. Use the following system for arranging the references:

Tables. On tables, no vertical line is used and each term should begin with a capital letter. All tables should be explained in the text.

Figures. Figures should be drawn on white papers and lines should be less than 1 mm wide. The left vertical and bottom horizontal lines is used. All the figures should be numbered in consecutive order.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration
  2. The submission file is in Open Office, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format. Conform to standard of Indonesian Journal of Nursing Health Science and the text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author’s Guidelines.
  3. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in ensuring in blind review have been followed.
  4. The length of submitted paper is at least 5 pages and no more than 15 pages.
  5. Abstract has 200-250 WORDS; 3–5 Keywords; No citation; The abstract should describe your entire paper. It comprises of the introduction, aim, method, result, and conclusion.
  6. Manuscript structure: Title, Abstract, Introduction, Research Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements, funding, References, Table and Figure (if any)
  7. References expect a minimum of 15 references primarily with minimum 60% to journal papers. It used of a tool of reference manager such as Mendeley, Endnote etc. for reference management and formatting, and have choosen the APA 6th Format.
  8. Copyright Agreement. Authors are required to fill the Author’s Letter Statement to Editorial Office.  A form of copyright is sent to the corresponding author when article is accepted and article is not published until the complete form has been received by the Editorial Office via fax or email.
