INOVASI PEMBELAJARAN DARING DI UNIVERSITAS ESA UNGGUL

Mulyo Wiharto

Abstract

Esa Unggul University has held hybrid learning since 2007. The learning pattern used is the 8/6 pattern, which is a mix of face-to-face lectures for 8 sessions and online lectures for 6 sessions. At each face-to-face lecture session, the lecturer makes presentations and questions and answers with students. At each online lecture session, the lecturer presents teaching materials in the form of full text, conducts discussions in forums and gives assignments. In 2017, the 8/6 pattern was updated with the 3/11 pattern. In pattern 3/11, face-to-face lectures are conducted at the beginning, middle and end of the semester. For online lectures, the development of teaching materials in the form of modules, videos and e-journals is developed. Teaching material presented is not only in the form of full text, but must be in the form of modules arranged according to standards. The module is also equipped with videos and e-journal links in each lecture session. In addition to being given an assignment, a quiz was also provided for the evaluation of learning. In 2019, the 3/11 pattern was renewed again with the full online pattern. In the full online pattern, face-to-face lectures are only optional and are used as enrichment lectures. Learning innovation is emphasized on improving the quality of teaching materials that are presented in as many as 14 lecture sessions. Discussions are carried out asynchronously and synchronously by setting a discussion schedule for each session. Evaluations are given in the form of quizzes and assignments for each session. Evaluation in the form of quizzes uses multiple choice questions and functions as a formative test. The assignment is used as feedback and serves as an improvement material for students whose achievements are insufficient or enrichment material for students who have met graduation requirements.
