PUBLIC RELATION TAK SEKEDAR MENGUNDANG WARTAWAN DALAM KONFRENSI PERS

Abstract

Public relations must have extensive knowledge and experience in the field of journalism. He should not be introverted, but must be extroverted in his daily life. He must be sociable and friendly to everyone. His knowledge and friendliness will easily relate to reporters. Important knowledge so I know what journalists need. Every press release submitted must be considered, is there news value for reporters? If the news value does not yet exist or is not strong enough, can it still be created to be attractive to journalists? This method is usually less thought of homework. They just invite reporters and deliver messages according to their wishes without thinking about the benefits for journalists. Hospitality is important so that reporters are comfortable and can ask questions about material outside the time of a press conference. There may be something forgotten or there is an important problem that just arises in his mind. Keywords: Journalist, Public Relations, Press Conference

 

Abstrak

PR wajib mempunyai pengetahuan dan pengalaman luas di bidang jurnalistik. Ia tak boleh introvert, tapi harus ekstrovert dalam keseharian. Ia harus banyak bergaul dan ramah pada setiap orang. Pengetahuan dan keramahannya itu akan mudah berhubungan dengan wartawan. Pengetahuan penting suapaya tahu apa yang dibutuhkan wartawan. Setiap press release yang disampaikan sudah harus dipikirkan, adakah nilai beritanya bagi wartawan? Bila nilai beritanya belum ada atau kurang kuat, masih bisakah dikreasi supaya menarik bagi wartawan? Cara ini biasanya kurang dipikirkan PR. Mereka hanya sekedar mengundang wartawan dan menyampaikan pesan sesuai kehendak mereka tanpa memikirkan keuntungan buat wartawan. Keramahan penting supaya wartawan nyaman dan bisa bertanya soal materi di luar waktu konfrensi pers. Bisa saja ada yang terlupa atau ada masalah penting yang baru muncul dalam pikirannya.
