KESALAHAN GRAMATIKAL PADA TEKS MATERI AJAR BAHASA INGGRIS YANG DIPERGUNAKAN UNIVERSITAS TERBUKA

Abstract

A teaching material has very important roles in the teaching-learning process because it facilitates both teachers and students in teaching-learning activities and provides information about the materials to be used and as a medium for developing students’ learning experience. Thus, the teaching material must be made in accordance with its fuctions. One of which is that it should be free from grammatical errors. This research is aimed at analyzing the grammatical errors in the texts of English language teaching materials used by the Universitas Terbuka. The method of the research is qualitative content analysis. The data is obtained through analyzing the text teaching material.This study analyzes the grammatical errors in morphological and syntax level.The research shows that there are 32 morphological errors that consist of 26 misformation, 5 omission and 1 addition, and syntactic errors that consist of 12 misordering.

 Abstrak

Materi ajar memiliki peranan yang sangat penting dalam proses belajar-mengajar karena materi ajar memfasilitasi baik guru maupun siswa dalam kegiatan belajar,memberikan informasi atas materi-materi yang akan dipergunakan dan sebagai media untuk mengembangkan pengalaman belajar siswa. Materi ajar harus dibuat sesuai dengan fungsinya, salah satunya materi ajar harus bebas dari kesalahan-kesalahan grammatikal yang terdapat dalam teks materi ajar bahasa Inggris yang digunakan oleh Universitas Terbuka. Metode qualitatif konten analisis digunakan untuk menganalis data yang sudah didapat. Data pada penelitian ini diperoleh melalui analisis teks-teks yang terdapat dalam materi tersebut. penelitian ini menganalisis kesalahan kesalahan grammatikal seperti morphologi dan kesalahan sintaksis. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkam bahwa ada 32 kesalahan morfologi yang terdiri dari 26 misformation, 5 omission dan 1 addition, serta kesalahan sintaksis yang terdiri dari 12 misordering.
